Happy Halloween with haunted house, spooky tree, jack-o-lanterns

Happy Halloween! Today's lunch is pepperoni or cheese pizza with mini carrots, fresh fruit, and choice of milk.

Tomorrow's Spirit Day is Freaky Friday: students dress as teachers and teachers dress as students.

Tomorrow is the last day of the Scholastic Book Fair in the LRC! If you haven't had a chance to check it out before school, during lunch, or after school, be sure to do so today or tomorrow! Flyers can be picked up in the library or the office.

Coin wars continue today! We are raising money for Honor Flight, an organization that honors the service and sacrifice of America's veterans and brings awareness to and inspires people to share their gratitude towards veterans. Bring your spare change and dollars to help the cause! Check out the bottles in the lunchroom and don't forget that if your grade wins, you get a chance to soak Mr. Lazar, pie Mrs. Dzhurov, or tape Mrs. Graham to the wall! Get that change in and make a difference! 6th grade is in the lead but keep bringing your change. A new opportunity is opening up. Bring $1 tomorrow (Friday) to thumb war Mrs. D. If you can beat her she will donate an extra $1 to your grades' jar. Good luck!

Congratulations to the new officers for National Junior Honor Society:

  • President: Elsie Hetland

  • Vice President: Bella Torres Matta

  • Secretary: Adriel Gonzalez

  • Treasurer: Nora Gibson

  • Public Relations: Julia Corbett

  • Historian: Vicky Estrada

Viking boys' basketball hosted their first home game yesterday and finished with two overtime wins! 7th grade boys won 40-37 with Dauvrey W. scoring 27 points to lead his team to victory! 8th grade boys won 36-35 with a clutch 3-point-play made by Ezra R. to secure the victory. It was so much fun to feel the excitement in the gym, we hope to see you at the next home game on Wednesday, November 6 against Grayslake!
