Hello! My name is Mrs. Kincaid and I am so excited for this school year. I grew up in Zion, Illinois. I am the youngest of three children. I spent my childhood twirling baton with the Razzle Dazzles and dreaming of becoming a teacher. I attended Illinois State University and graduated with a degree in elementary education. I did my student teaching in 4th grade at Prairie Trail and now this is my eighth year teaching fourth grade. I was previously called Miss Spaeth, but I got married in November of 2018. I graduated with my Masters in Diverse Learning at Trinity International University in 2020. My husband and I welcomed a baby boy in December of 2020. I love spending time with friends and family. Teaching is my passion and I really enjoy working with children. We are going to have a great year!

School Hours: 
School begins at 8:35 a.m. and release is at 3:25 p.m. There are a few early release dates noted on the calendar and you will receive reminders. 

Transportation:
Students will be sent home on the bus unless they have a scheduled club or a note. Notes can be sent in to school with the student. Please include their name, the date, the time of pickup, and who will be picking them up. 

Behavior Expectations: 
We follow the Be Statements at Prairie Trail School. Students should be respectful, responsible, productive, and safe in all settings. 

Snack/Lunch: 
Snacks are eaten in the classroom. Students may bring water bottles. The snacks should be healthy. More information will be provided in the future regarding allergies. Students may also bring a lunch from home. 

Birthday Treats: 
More information will come out later regarding this year's procedures for birthday treats. 

Grading: 
Students are graded based on their mastery of a standard. 
5- I have exceeded this standard. 
4- Independently, I understand this standard. 
3- Independently, I partially understand this standard. 
2- With assistance, I partially understand this standard. 
1- With assistance, I do not understand this standard.
