A little about me...
My name is Mrs. Michelle Sacchetti and I am a Special Education Teacher at Prairie Trail.
My teaching career started in Waukegan as a Special Education teacher of a self-contained 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade class. After three years, I moved to join the Gurnee 56 family at O’Plaine School as a Special Education Teacher in 4th grade. I then moved into the classroom and taught 2nd and 3rd grade for the next six years.
After taking some time off to raise our three boys, who attend River Trail school, I came back to the District 56 famliy as a Special Education Instructional Aide for the past 2 years. During my time away from the classroom I enjoyed volunteering in my boys’ classrooms, being a room mom, and substituting throughout the district.
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire with a dual certification in Elementary and Special Education. After seeing the technology driven direction of District 56, I pursued a Master of Education in Technology from Lesley University. During my time off I also completed my teaching certification in ESL education.
It has been a pleasure to rejoin the District 56 family. I enjoy each day, helping students to overcome their academic, social and emotional challenges and celebrating their many successes.
