1:1 iPad Initiative

                                             D56 iPad

As part of the District’s five-year strategic plan, the Board of Education challenged the administration to increase the use and availability of instructional technology for students and staff.  On December 5, 2012, this District will begin the process of distributing an iPad to each of its 2,250 students.  The overall goal of the 1:1 iPad initiative is to establish a student-centered learning environment for all children.

Being a trailblazer with this initiative places the District in a vulnerable position as it navigates through un-chartered waters. With that said, the Board of Education is very excited about the potential the iPad initiative offers students in allowing them to maximize their learning experiences.

In the Sub-Pages of this Section you will find a Calendar of when the Roll-Out Nights will take place, a Document Container containing all of the necessary documents pertaining to the 1:1 iPad Initiative at District 56, and eventually a Photo Gallery depicting the initiative as it unfolds.

Click on the Document Container on the right side of this page for the forms that you will need to read, sign and bring with you on your Roll-Out Night.

NOTE:  Please save paper/trees !  The only forms that need to be printed out, signed, and turned in are the iPad Accident Protection Plan, the iPad Parent/Student User Agreement and the iPad Account Creation Consent Form.
